Chamber Champions Awards Luncheon - Rescheduled

Join us for a lunch event each as we celebrate individuals who help make our Chamber and our community great.

Due to the public health concerns with the COVID-19 virus, the event will be rescheduled once the ban on gatherings of 10 of more has been lifted.  It is important to the safety of our members and the community at-large.       

We will present the Al Rent Spirit of Muncie Award, Ambassador of the Year, Business Longevity Awards, and a special Chairman's Award.

This year's award ceremony will be held July 15, 2020.  We will hold the event at the Horizon Convention Center from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Reservations are available for $25 each or $200 for a table of 8. Please contact to make reservations.  

The Al Rent Spirit of Muncie Award was created in 2002 to honor Al Rent for his support and volunteerism with the Muncie-Delaware County Chamber of Commerce. In Mr. Rent’s honor, this annual award is presented at the Chamber Champions awards luncheon. Nominees for this award should volunteer for the Chamber of Commerce and be a role model, a respected leader and a valued community volunteer. Nominees should also be motivational and maintain a highly positive attitude. To nominate someone, submit a nomination form.

Ambassador of the Year is awarded to one of our dedicated Chamber Ambassadors each year. A specific numeric scoring system is used to determine who will receive this prestigious award.

Longevity Awards are to recognize local businesses that have been in business continuously for periods of  10, 15, 25, 50, 75 and 100+ years. Businesses who would like to be considered for one of these awards, please submit a nomination form.

A special Chairman's Award recipient company or organization will be selected by the Chamber's Board Chairman, Mr. Jeff Parsons.

Brenda Brumfield
Director of Community & Government Relations
Prior to joining the Chamber team, Brenda was a legislative aide for the Indiana House of Representatives, and a speechwriter for the House Republican caucus. Brumfield joined the Chamber staff in 1992. She worked as the Director of Advocacy until 1998 when she left to pursue other opportunities with her growing family. She rejoined the Chamber team as Director of Community & Government Relations in May of 2007. Her responsibilities include serving as a liaison between the business community and elected officials at the local, state and national level. She also plans events to allow chamber members the opportunity to interact with elected officials. She earned her undergraduate degree from Indiana State University in Terre Haute.
